    Emailing from within Access (2003)

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

This is a subject I've been gently interested in for some time in the sense that I don't need to do it now but probably will have to sometime. I came across a very neat solution to a particular part of the overall problem & thought I'd share it. VBA emailing using Outlook 2003 is problematical as Outlook tries to ask for each email 'Do you really want to send this' imposes a 5 sec wait & then wants a yes button clicked. I can understand the rational for this but if you want 1000's of clients emailed automatically from your db it's a problem!!

The solution I've found is a little free program downloadable from http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html that automates handling Outlook security question in a simple effect way.

BTW if anyone has a flexible supa dupa email from Access solution PLEASE let me know!

ClickYes works fine, it has been mentioned several times in this and other forums - see ClickYes search.

There are other options too: see Outlook Email Security Update, in particular the Automation Security section. If you are using Outlook with Exchange server, the Exchange administrator can change the security settings (see the "administrative options" link in the page I referred to.)

Take a look at Redemption, which is a library file you can license and use in your applications. Since it uses Extended MAPI rather than MAPI, it bypasses the security patch issues in 2000, 2002 and 2003 without compromising security.

Thanks for your comments Both. Charlotte, I did look @ Redemption & from your lofty peak of knowledge & expertise using it is probably just so obvious. From my position down here in the depths of ignorance understanding how to apply it is shall we say 'challenging'. 'ClickYes' is very simple & straightforward.

The other point is 'ClickYes' is gloriously free!!
