Shortcut Bar information (MS Office 2000)

Every time I have to reinstall Windows, I lose the Office toolbars that I had configured. Is there a file or group of files where this configuration can be captured, backed up and restored so I don't have to try and remember what I had set up last time?

Re: Shortcut Bar information (MS Office 2000)

    Hi Don:
I know that some of the settings seems to be stored in "C:WINDOWSApplication DataMicrosoftOfficeShortcut Bar". However, I know the temp files can be recreated when OSB is started, so there must be another place also.

O.K. I think that if you save the registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice9.0Shortcu t BarToolbars

it will save your settings. You might go up a level & just save the key

    HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice9.0Shortcu t Bar

    I haven't tried deleting & restoring, however.
    Hope this helps,

Addition: if you are running Windows 2000 or XP, your shorcuts are in

Cocuments and Settings<your username>Application DataMicrosoftOfficeShortcut Bar

Thanks for reminding me. I keep forgetting that not everyone still uses Win 98 (just because I've been lazy about updating). <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
