    auto email warning (2002)

    Hello,
I am faxing from an Access app through a shared fax on a server. Outlook warns me another program is attempting to send an email and has me confirms it is OK. How can I disable this, so the user has one less step to perform?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Dave P.

For an overview of the "object model guard" and possible solutions see Slipstick - Automation Security.

This is common when sending an e-mail message using Outlook, and the workarounds are to use a button-clicking program or the Redemption library. You'll find many posts here on this.

But... I don't understand how sending a fax triggers Outlook. ?????

Thanks. It seems that the fax is sent to Outlook as an email with an attachment. I thought this a bit odd as well, however, if it works, I'll take it. And, it seems to work rather well. The local Outlook prompts the 'send' to the shared fax. Upon doing so, MSWord opens ( I am sending as RTF) probably to convert the document, and quickly closes. The server then handles the outbound fax, and logs it in the shared fax manager.

That's pretty much how my corporations e-fax mailboxes work, whatever I receive is a message with an attached TIF file containing the fax content.

Let me assume this fax solution is supplied by a vendor other than Microsoft. Can enough of its customers complain so that the vendor fixes the problem? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
