Upgrade Path/Process from XP Home to XP Pro (any)

This issue has probably been addressed before in this forum. (If so, please just point me to the appropriate thread.) Is there an easy upgrade path or process to convert a machine from XP Home to XP Pro? We jumped the gun on one of our home machines, buying an XP Home machine a day before XPs official release. Only after registering the OS did we discover that Home wouldn't log on to our NT network here at the house. This thing has been a thorn in my side long enough -- it's time to bring it up to the house spec, namely XP Pro.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

You can do an inplace upgrade. That may be ok with XP home to Pro as long as you are not having any problems with the system. Just pop in the Pro Cd and you are on your way.

    Joe,

Thanks. A follow-up question comes to mind -- if I run this route, do I need to keep track of both license numbers, or just the one for XP Pro?

Just the XP Pro license number. If the XP Pro version is the upgrade version you'll need to keep the XP Home media to 'prove' a prior version to the installation routines if you need to re-install from scratch.
