    Date Formula (Micorosft Excel 2003)

What formula would I use to get the elapsed number of days between 2 different dates that are in 2 different cells withing on worksheet.

    Example
    Order date = 5/5/04 (Cell #1)
    Received date = 6/5/04 (Cell #2)
    Elasped Days = 31 days (Cell #2)

Re: Date Formula (Micorosft Excel 2003)

Say that the order date is in cell A1, and the received date is in cell A2. In the cell where you want the number of days in between, say in cell A3, enter this formula:

    =A2-A1

and then select Edit | Clear | Formats. Explanation: Excel stores dates as a number of days (by default as the number of days since 12/31/1899), so you can simply subtract one date from another to get the number of days between them.
