    Email Report (Access 2003)

    Hi,

When I attempt to email a report, I receive this error message. How do I fix this problem? I am using OL2003 which is working normally.

    Thanks

You haven't provided enough information for an answer. What method are you using to try to email the report?

    Re: Email Report (Access 2003)

    Sorry Charlotte,

I am previewing the report proir to printing, and using the "File", "Send to", "Mail Recipient (as an attachment)"

On a friends PC using Access2000, he is then presented with the option of sending RTF, Excel, HTML etc - so 1 is chosen and the OK/send? button pressed, the message is then sent to his outbox for sending. 2003 just gives me the error message!

    Thanks

There is an article in the Microsoft Knowledge base about exactly this error with Access 97. It might help.

You can find it at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...173&Product=acc

    Thanks for the tip John.

The MS sugestion was to delete this line in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftOffice8.0Common MapiDLL
Unfortunately it's not there to delete.

Try checking the other versions: 2000 (9.0) and 2002 (10.0) to see if the key exists for one of them.

There is no such key on my system for Outlook 2002, and according to newsgroup posts, there is no such key for Outlook 2000 either.

    Hi Charlotte,

    Re: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftOffice8.0Common MapiDLL

No key is showing for either 9.0 or 11.0 (don't have a folder for 10.0)
Also did a search for "mapiDLL" whilst in the registry, nothing found.

    Re: Email Report (Access 2003)

    Hi Charlotte,

I seem to have stumbled on to a solution for my probelm.

I have just attempted to email invoices from MYOB, (I have the warning problem with OL so I switch OE6 as my default mail client.)

When I attempted to email as I normally do, I received a error message "mapi32.dll" missing.
I did a search for mapi32.dll and found this file in the system32 folder, this file was 710kb and dated 30/7/77!!
    I also found MAPI32.DLL size 135kb 10/12/02.
SO- renamed lower case file, copied uppercase file to system32 directory, flashed up Access, working fine now.
Just hope "mapi32.dll" isn't required for anything - bit old anyway.

    Thanks everyone for your advice.
    Neville
