Undo Buffer Depth (Word 2002 (XP))

    Hi,

I would like to reduce the amount of memory that Word uses when running macros over which I have no control (in particular, Adobe's PDF-making macro). Can I reduce the number of versions kept in the undo buffer with VBA code run before the macro? How?

Also, there was a hint about a registry entry that increases the amount of memory Word will use before saying it is out of memory, but the entry was never given: does anyone know that?

    Thank you for any help,

I don't know of a way to set the amount of memory used by Word, or the size of the undo buffer. But you can clear the entire undo buffer for a document as follows:

    ActiveDocument.UndoClear

(replace ActiveDocument by a specific Document object if appropriate.)
