Microsoft XP Developer's Guide (Outlook 2002)

Does anyone own the book titled "Microsoft XP Developer's Guide"? There is a CD that comes with the book which contains GetExplorerInfo and GetInspectorInfo procedures. They don't show the code in the book - only the tantalizing results.

If you have the CD, could you post the code for me? <img src=/S/please.gif border=0 alt=please width=31 height=23>

There's a few Outlook coders here who'd be happy to help you with GetInspector and GetExplorer code if you can explain your objective. You might also want to Search this Forum, the Outlook Forum and http://www.outlookcode.com for those specific Methods by name, and see what turns up. And this way we can avoid any potential copyright issues.

Re: Microsoft XP Developer's Guide (Outlook 2002)

If you are referring to the "Microsoft Office XP Developer's Guide" that is included with the Developer's Edition of Office XP, there is not really a CD included with book, it is the book that is included with the CD(s) that comprise this edition of Office XP. Chapter 2 of Part 2, "Developing Office Applications Using VBA" refers to the GetExplorerInfo and GetInspectorInfo procedures under section titled "Understanding the Explorer and Inspector Objects." The Office XP Developer CD-ROM (the one labelled "MODPROD1") has a folder named "Samples", with various subfolders, that as name implies provides sample Office & VBA files, sample code, etc (some of which is included as part of the Code Librarian add-in code database). The procedures you refer to can be found in the "D:SamplesWorking with Office Apps" subfolder in a file named "OutlookSamples.mdb", an Access database file (I was able to open file although have Office 2K, not XP, installed on the system I'm using right now). So if you have the XP Developer's Edition, recommend dig out the fold-out thing with all the CD's & take a look at the sample files on the first CD, there is a lot of other useful stuff to be found. A lot of this stuff is probably available from MS online, but determining where it's buried in MSKB, MSDN, etc would be like looking for needle in a haystack....

If you have the developers edition, you also have CodeLibrarian. It contains all the sample code in the on-line help, which may include what you're looking for.
