Folder Opens Each Startup (XP SP1)

A minor problem, but it bugs me! Everytime I start my computer, the folder 'C:WINDOWSSystem32' opens. How do I keep it from opening? Thanks in advance for the help!

Do you have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card? If so, go to http://www.kellys-korner.com/xp_tweaks.htm, item 260, right hand side: System32 Folder Opens Upon Boot.

Otherwise, check out MSKB article System32 Folder Opens When Logging on to Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT 4.0.

A search for the string System32 folder startup in this forum led me to the thread starting at post 291627.

The suggestions should sort you out.

    Hans,
I had my doubts running a VBS script, so I tried some of the MS fixes to no avail!

I downloaded the VBS script and ran it - it worked like a charm. The Audigy sound card appears to be the culprit. Thanks for your help!
