Open Excel Workbook from Access Switchboard (Access 2000)

Help, please...For his convenience, my boss would like a button on our database Switchboard that automatically opens an entire Excel workbook in Microsoft Excel (not just a table in the workbook). The Excel workbook is located on a shared network drive. Could someone please advise me and provide a snippet of code that I could modify to accomplish this task? Many thanks...Mary

Many thanks, Hans! Could you look at the following path and see if you see anything wrong with it--I pasted it exactly as it is in the sample code you to which you referred but the message couldn't open the workbook keeps coming up. (Centaurus is the network server, and I've double checked all the folder names). Thanks...Mary

The path looks OK to me. I was a bit doubtful about the & in the share name, but my Windows XP has no problem with a name like that.

Thank you, Hans...I just rechecked and there are two spaces after a word in the name of one of the folders--that was the problem! The code now does the job! Many thanks for your help!...Mary
