Text box -delete selected border (Word97/Sr-2)

    Hi -

Is there a way to have 1 (border) line, 2, or 3 in a text box? Is the choice all or none? It was suggested that one can somehow mask the lines via Draw toolbar. Thank you.

I'm having trouble picturing what you want. (Also, I have Word 2002, so my dialogs might not match yours.) Are you looking for a Table-like appearance inside a TextBox?

    Ah-ha...The light, she goes on!

I had forgetten about inserting a table in a text box! Thank you.

But, IS it possible to delete particular lines around the text box so, yes, it is a table-like appearance.

(I had created a text box but only wanted, in this instance, the top border to appear. The table route does work, but is there a way to do it w/o inserting a table? )

For a text box it's all or nothing: borders on all sides, or none. For a paragraph or for a table (cell), you can turn borders on and off for each side.
