    Financial Formulae (XL 2000)

    Hi All,

I'm looking for a good online resource on financial formulae in Excel (required add-ins, description, gotchas, etc). The more extensive and thorough, the better. I tried a Google search but it yielded so many and diverse results I thought I'd drop a line here. If you have something to share I'll appreciate it.

    Thank you in advance <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Spreadsheets were originally made for accounting and finance, but that doesn't mean Microsoft Excel contains every financial formula.

Now that I got your attention, this comes from This web site that I think might be what you are looking for, or at least a starting point.

You also could check <A target="_blank" HREF="http://www.barasch.com/excel/xlformulas.htm"> Alan

    Hi,

You might also take a look at <post#=365442>post 365442</post#>. Although document attached to that post is about field maths in Word, the section on financial calculations gives both the formulae and a description of the variables that are essentially the same as what Excel uses for the equivalent functions.

    Cheers

Thanks much Wassim, John & Macropod.

One of the links John posted has a great Excel Function Dictionary. I DLed already.
What I was looking for is a site dedicated to financial formulas in Excel: the ones builit-in, the ones included in separate add-ins, maybe a description on the methods used by Excel to get the result and warnings on misuse of formulas (in case there can be any)... I now feel this might be pretty advanced to be found on the Net perhaps... I'll probably have to resort to a good book.

    Thanks anyway
