    NT Authority System Error (WinXP/Pro/SP1)

I'm getting system shutdown initiated by NT Authority/System. The process which seems to be causing this error is C:windowssystem32isass.exe and terminated with status cod-1073741819. The report error wind indicates LSA Shell (export version) encountered a problem. Anyone have a clue as to this problem and what can be done to fix it. The system shutdown occurs when downloadin Norton AV virus updates and doesn't seem to occur frequently elsewhere. The computer is a PIII with WinXPproSP1. Any help would be appreciated.....

You have a worm/virus/trojan (whatever you care to call it). Most likely it is Sasser. If you can, check out What You Should Know About the Sasser Worm and Its Variants from MS.
