    Norton Confirmations

    I'm using Norton SysWorks 2003...

Anytime I d/l a file, NAV scan it -- which is great -- but can't it be set to NOT show results unless there is a problem?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    Re: Norton Confirmations

If you want to disable log reporting:

    To disable a log
    click Norton AntiVirus > Reports.
In the Reports pane, in the Activity Log line, click View Report.
Select the log you want to disable.
    Click Log > Disable Logging.

You can also change the size of the log file there also. I don't think you can have it only report if there is a problem.

    Jefferson et al:

I apologize... I 'should' have posted here... anyway:

(Attached is a snap of my NAV settings...) I couldn't attach the file... I got a "file too big error...

I appreciate Norton's checking files I d/l... but it would be nicer in the background.

    Any suggestions?

    Regards,
    Chuck

    Jefferson:

Instead of attaching the file, can('t) I embed it in my reply and get away with it that way? If so, how to do?

    Bob:

I'm showing "Virus Alerts", "Application Activities", and "Errors"... I assume it' the "App. Activities" I want to disable...there isn't any real detail to explain what all this is doing...

    Re: Norton Confirmations

To show an image in the body of your reply, from web space elsewhere, use the <!t>[image]<!/t>URL<!t>[/image]<!/t> markup. If you use the 1-Click Tag Panel, this markup is inserted by the <IMG SRC=http://www.wopr.com/w3timages/graphic1.gif> button.

As for your screen shot, if you have Windows XP, try this: paste the dialog capture into Paint and Save As PNG. (Do not try to post an entire screen, that's too much data.) This usually will make a file under 100K while preserving the clarity of the image.

    Re: Norton Confirmations

Chuck, the URL needs to point to a place that Loungers can access. I don't think you want us all in your computer. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> If you don't have any web space to post to, making a smaller graphic and attaching it to your post is the best approach.

    Chuck,
App activites would be the more likely one. You can highlight each of the catagories and click the "help" icon to see a description of each.

    Bob:

    Doesn't seem to be it...

    It's gotta be buried somewhere...

It just started doing this as of the last couple updates (I think), and as is typical of Norton, no explanation, so there you go...

    Thanks though...

    Regards,
    Chuck

    Re: Norton Confirmations

    Hi Chuck,

Don't know if you have checked the Symantec support site but they have some online tools that will check your installation for any known problems. Try going to here to see if their scanners find anything.

    Cheers, Bob
    Regards,
    Bob
