    Outlook Express Sound (Vers 6)

Outlook Express permits one to send sound files with an email. My problem is simply the sounds I send (music) doesn't arrive with the email. I've tried sending the sound to myself (with a dummy email) and it comes across perfectly. Appreciate any help. Thanx much.

Does this happen every time you try to send a sound or just with certain recipients? The most likely reason is that they have security software (antivirus or firewall) that is set to block this type of file, or simply have a setting in their email set to block it. Check with the recipients if this might be the case.

Just thought of something else - if the recipient is set to 'plain text only' (very common these days, far less likely to get nasty code) the sound may be dropped or just arrive as an attachment rather than an integral part of the message ...

    Hi Beryl,
Pls excuse my late thanx. Went to all my correspondents and they had activated HTML! Being stubborn I've been playing around with the problem and discovered that the sound I tried to send to others is NOT included in my Sent File. Strange. It is most definitely included in the msgs I, as a control, sent to myself. Any more advice?.

When you say it is not in your sent file, do you mean it's not in the file you sent, or it's not in the file they receive? If the latter, it could still be as per my earlier post, ie firewall or other security software blocking receipt.

Otherwise I'm stumped, too, I'm afraid!
