Excel.xlb (Excel 2000)

I have users whose customizations occasionally disappear. I have resorted to backing up the Excel.xlb file, but this is not foolproof if I or the user forget to back it up after another customization. I am looking into adding a script to back this file up at log-in, but in the meantime, does anyone know how this file gets ignored or corrupted from time to time?

When you ask <<< does anyone know how this file gets ignored or corrupted from time to time? >>>

My only answer would be Why ask Why? These things are part of our daily lives as technology users.

But take heart, check this MSKB article and know that if MS has no solution, I guess no one cares enough about the issue to do something about it. The Annoyances.org could have a solution.

I suggest, if you so care, is to invest in some real good backup software, that can allow you to choose what files get backed up, and use it.
