    Auto Footers

    Hi All!,

I'm trying to setup some footers to appear on all new spreadsheets that I create.

I remember in Excel 97, there was a personal.xls file that could be personalised and this woudl save settings such as footers etc.

My question is - how is this dealt with in Excel 2000?

    Thanks in advance.

The personal.xls file features is still the same, but it is not what you want for formatting and footers etc. You need to have a default template called book.xlt stored in your xlstart directory. See this previous Post for more details. You should also create a default sheet.xlt, which determines the formatting etc of any new sheets you add to a workbook.

The personal.xls file stores macros for use with all workbooks. It too is stored in the xlstart directory.
