    E-mail link with Subject auto-populated

Is there a way to do this simply? I could use CDONTS and a webform for e-mail page but if there's a way to pred-define the subject line in a mailto: link that'd be a lot less trouble.

    TIA

Sure Steve, try this:<pre><a href="mailto:somerecipient@domain.com?subject=Here is my subject"></pre>

You can even stuff text into the body using this method, add a <code>?body=</code> statement in there to try it out. The question mark is your separator.

    Actually...

The Question mark is for the first item, but you'll need the Ampersand (&) for subsequent items:<pre><a href="mailto:someone@somewhere.com?subject=This is a test subject&body=This is a test body"></pre>

Thanks for the reminder, Mark - I had forgotten that nuance; I typically only use it to insert a subject line. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Re: E-mail link with Subject auto-populated

    Hey - no problem <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

I always struggled to remember that one until it occurred to me that it's the same as using Querystring parameters in URLs. For anyone who would like to see this in practice, look at the URL in your browser at this very moment...

? first item name = value & each additional item name = value (without spaces, of course)

I was going to say a search, but you probably would not have found <post#=372869>post 372869</post#>, which is over on the Outlook board.
