    Windows 98SE reinstall

I just did a FDISK/FORMAT/INSTALL of Windows98SE. Everything went OK except now I don't have Internet Neighborhood or Dial-Up Networking icons on my desk top. How can I install these features?

    Re: Windows 98SE reinstall

    Go to

    http://www.winmag.com/windows/win98/software.htm

Download & install TweakUI. Then open it (it's in the control panel) & go to the Desktop tab. You can delete & restore common desktop icons from there.

Oh. When you say DUN, are you talking about dialing up the internet thru your ISP. If so, navigate in Windows Explorer to your program that's used to connect (e.g. I use iVasion/WinPOet/WrDialer.exe). Right drag it to the desktop (or in Win 98, use SendTo/Desktop as shortcut).

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Windows 98SE reinstall

the reason you don't have these on your desktop is probnably because 1. your modem is not installed. If you install your modem, it should install RAS and under my computer, you'll see Dial-up Networking. If, it does not load CLient for Microsft Networking (which you shouldn't need unless your on a network) you won't and shouldn't see Network Neighborhood.
