    excel 2003-exporting to outlook (2003)

I have been trying to export some excel data to use it in outlook and have been unable to do so.
It gives me an error telling me that i need to map custom fields and or it wont accept excel files only csv files. (note pad).

Any help would be useful. Thankyou.

I don't use outlook, but can't you save the excel worksheet as a CSV and import that into outlook?

File -Saveas - choose csv as the type

It sounds like Outlook does not recognize the field names (Excel column headers) that you used in the Excel file. That message probably means that Excel wants you to tell it what to do with the field names that it does not recognize. SInce I don't use Outlook, I don't have a clue how to do that.

You have to define a name for the range in Excel you need to import:

Select the area for the import (in Excel)
Choose Insert, Name, Define and enter a name in the top box
Save and close the file and now try the import.
