2 questions about Pivot Chart (2003)

    1. How to display the data label with value on a column pivot chart?
    2. If I add a field to the query used to generate a pivot chart in a form, the field list of the pivot chart doesn't include the new field. Is there a way to refresh the field list with the new query field?

    1. Displaying datalabels:
    - Display the Properties window for the Pivot Chart.
    - In the General tab, select the series you want to add labels to in the Select dropdown list.
    - Click the Add Data Labels button.

    2. Adding a field:
    - Open the form in design view.
    - Add the new field to the Detail section.
    - Switch to Pivot Chart view. The new field will be displayed in the field list.

    Dear Hans,

Thank you for your help. Now I can do what I expected.

But do you know a way to have these datalabels by default when you open the form.

    Best regards,

    Marcel

Once you add the data labels and save the form, the labels should be there when you next open the form. I don't think there is a way to make a pivot chart display data labels automatically when it is created. You could create a pivot chart form with all the settings you like, and make a copy of it each time you need a new one.

Re: 2 questions about Pivot Chart (2003)

The point is that I change the type of chart when the form is opened and of course I lost the setting for the label.
Anyway is already convenient as it is now.
Thank you again for your help,
    Marcel
