    WMP 9 Errors (XP sr1, WMP 9)

Any one know of a fix for what's rapidly becoming the infamous "An internal application error has occurred" box that pops up on opening WMP 9? The prg @#$!% out before starting, with that message, at all times.
I found plenty of references to the problem all over the net, but no solution.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMP9? Are all hotfixes applied?

    Bill,
I think you're correct about not being able to uninstall. Glad the install over the existing version seems to have helped. With all the interaction between components it is getting harder and harder to generally identify a problem. Especially with media player and all the types of media files, devices, codecs, etc. that must all work together. It seems the best you can do is try to fix or workaround each instance.
