From Access to Outlook (2000 and XP)
I am creating a database for my office. They would like to have a database for prospective clients. One of the fields will be a follow-up date. I was wondering if that field could do either of the following:
*generate an email or calendar appointment to be sent to a specific person
*generate a date in the future (6 mths from today), as the same feature in Outlook does in Calendar (go feature)
Any help would be greatly appeciated!!

Re: From Access to Outlook (2000 and XP)
You can send an e-mail from Access using DoCmd.SendObject - you don't need to actually send a database object.
If you want to generate a calendar appointment, you need to use Automation, i.e. control Outlook from Access in code. Moderator WendellB has a tutorial on Automation on his website: Automation 101, with useful links. Helen Feddema has some examples on controlling Outlook from Access on her website: Code Samples. Microsoft also has information in the Knowledge Base, for example ACC2000: How to Use Automation to Add Appointments to Microsoft Outlook.
