Animate a graph without screen flicker (OXP)

I am using a macro to step through a lot of data that is displayed on a graph. With every time step the graph refers to a different set of data. Stepping through the data is not a problem but the screen flickers every time the graph is updated. Is it possible to update only the line on the graph and not everything on the screen?

    Some ideas:

    1. Get a faster PC with more memory.
    2. Use DoEvents in the loop to give the screen a chance to update itself.
    3. Don't use Application.ScreenUpdating = False and Application.ScreenUpdating = True while changing the dataset for the chart.

    Thank You Hans

My PC is a 3 GHz P4 with .5Gb ram - I dont think a faster pc will help.
I used "ScreenUpdatting = True" in the loop for the screen to update in order to see the changes.
I have also tried DoEvents in the loop but it is the same effect as with ScreenUpdatting = True

    Regards,

    Frits

I have animated charts that run smoothly on slower PC's than that, so it should be possible. I hope someone else has a bright idea.

How are you updating/animating? What kind of formulas do you have? Is it a recalc issue (if you change something in your data, does it take a long time to recalc) or is it a "drawing issue"?

I hav seen "sluggish" performance in the calculations (esp with lots of array calcs). If it is a recalc issue, you might need to modify your calc scheme to calc faster or even use a macro instead.
