    Excel 9 SR-1; Win XP 5.1.2600 (Excel 9 SR-1)

Excel quits and pops the following Debug message when I try to open a couple of different files containing macros:

"The instruction at "0x3005c5eb" referenced memory at "0x00000018". The memory cold not be "written". Click on OK to terminate the program"

I'm running Excel 2000 (9.0.3821 SR-1) under Windows XP 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600 on an Intel 2793 MHz with 1024 MB RAM.

Sounds like either a corrupt file or even that you have a formula that excel chokes on (I have created some complex arrays that give similar messages)

Try Jan Karel <!profile=Pieterse>Pieterse<!/profile>'s website on corrupt Files helps you at all.

You can also try the techniques in this MS article. It also links to (possible) ways to recover some of the info
