Retrieve from Archive

I've set up autoarchives, saving to C:My DocumentsOutlook Archive.PST. How do I reconnect this archive to Outlook to be able to search through it and retrieve items if necessary?

Connect a Personal Folders service to it.
    From within Outlook :

Tools | Services | Add | Personal Folders

Browse to the archive file location | Select the file | Open

Change Personal Folders name on the General tab to something sensible

OK back to Outlook. [/list]The file will have appeared in your Outlook view.
Something to be wary of (because I'm not 100% certain what might happen) is if the archiver kicks in while you have the file open it might?/will? fail.

    Re: Retrieve from Archive

Since I am set up for "Internet" access instead of "Workgroup" I do not have a "Services" option on the Tools menu. However, I was able to use File | Open | Personal Folders File to achieve the same result.

    Thanks a bunch.

    Re: Retrieve from Archive

Sorry about that. I thought of it when I posted the reply (Why do I never think of things like that before I commit the action?) and I thought "this answer only works for my set up at work". However, since I didn't know the answer for how to do it in Internet mode, there seemed little point in editing the reply! The good thing is that now all loungers have details on how to do it in both modes.
Glad everything is hooked up OK
