    Conversion - Visio to PDF (2000 - SR2)

If I try to create a PDF from within Visio using the Adobe generated buttons, Visio crashes after distilling one page. I can create a PDF if I open Acrobat and then use the Create PDF drop down/From file option. Similarly, I can create a PDF if I select Print - Adobe PDF from within Visio.

Are there any setting I should be tweaking in Visio to overcome the problem, or is the problem casued by Acrobat itself?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Cliff

I would guess that the problem is caused by a dodgy macro on the Acrobat side. It sounds like you are using Acrobat 6 but are two versions old on the Visio front so maybe you would have more luck if you upgraded Visio to 2002 or 2003 (although I wouldn't put money on it).

Because you are able to create the PDF in the other two ways, perhaps fiddling with the PDF options will yield a result. For instance, try turning off all the additional useful bits such as convert hyperlinks to see if the crash still happens. If not, try turning them back on - one by one to see if you can narrow down the culprit in the conversion macro.

Have you loaded the Acrobat 6.0.1 patch? This might solve the problem as there is a large number of items addressed by the patch described on Adobe's web site. One of these items is support for Visio 2003 but I didn't see specific mention of Visio 2000.

    Andrew,
Thanks for your advice. I will experiment and see what happens. These problems have only surfaced since I reloaded my operating system.

    Andrew,
I loaded the latest patch yesterday.
