Exchange Newbie - SMTP auto naming

    Hi folks,

    W2k Server & Exchange 2000

When creating a new mail box enabled user in AD, Exchange is auto generating the SMTP email address as surnameinitialoffirstname@domain.com (i.e. BloggsD@domain.com).

Is there a setting in Exchange where I can change this so that the format of all SMTP addresses is firstname.surname@domain.com (i.e. joe.bloggs@domain.com)? I think it has something to do with Recipient Templates, but I couldn't get it to accept the parameters %first.%last@domain.com (as in Exchange 5.5).

    Any help appreciated?

    TIA,

Found the solution in the MS Exchange discussion groups...the following two MS KB articles detail the answer...

    Exchange 2000
    Exchange 2003
