Linked table to access displays #Num! (2003)

    Hello,

I have the dubious task of fixing a DB that apparently "use to work". I have discovered that a few of the linked tables (linked to Excel sheets) have "#Num!" in several of the numerical fields. However if you look at the Excel sheet it is displaying the data just fine. Has anyone seen this and more important, how did you fix it? Any help appreciated!!

What happens if you delete and recreate the linked table in the Access database?

Are you sure that the data in Excel are really numeric, and not text values looking like numbers? For example, if you set horizontal alignment to General, are the values left-aligned or right-aligned? Everything I can find about this problem (it is mentioned frequently in the newsgroups) points to the Excel column containing a mixture of number and text values.
