Jet Database Engine (MS Access 97)

I copied one of my databases to my local C: drive. Every time I try to open the database I get this error. "THe Microsoft Jet Engine stopped the porcess because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."

I tried doing a Database repair and it said it worked. I also tried Compact and Convert database and I get the above message.

Your database is probably corrupt. If you haven't already done so, download and install Jet 3.5 SP3 from ACC97: Updated Version of Microsoft Jet 3.5 Available for Download. It contains a standalone utility JetComp.exe that can sometimes repair problems the internal Compact / Repair cannot handle. There is an accompanying Word document that explains this type of error. If Jetcomp does not work, create a new blank database, and try to import all database objects from the problem database.

If you have a recent non-corrupt backup copy, it might be easiest going back to that.
