Updating Template Menu (Office XP - SP2)

I had to re-install Office XP due to hard disk sector problems running under Win 2000 Professional. I am trying to copy the templates that I salvaged and have them show-up in the template menu. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The File>New dialog or the New Document Task Pane? For the File>New dialog, you typically put them in this folder:

    cocuments and SettingsUsernameApplication DataMicrosoftTemplates

For the Task Pane, I think I've seen a post on that, but I can't remember whether there is a trick to increase the number of "recently used templates" or to list whatever you want.....

Templates should be stored in the folder that is designated as the User Templates location in the File Locations tab of Tools | Options... in Word (the other Office applications use the same folder.) Its default location for Office XP under Windows XP is

    Cocuments and Settings<username>Application DataMicrosoftTemplates

    Notes:
    - There is also a folder Cocuments and Settings<username>Templates; this is not used.
    - The Application Data folder is hidden; you will only see it in Windows Explorer if you display hidden files and folders (this is a setting in the View tab of Tools | Folder Options... in Windows Explorer.)
