Illegal op error in Outlook (Office 2000)

I have a user that has a problem with outlook, every time they click on the x to close an email message, or they hit send they get an Illegal operation message that states "Outlook executed an invalid instruction in module <unknown> at 0000:00ff568a."

Anyone have any ideas??? I have tried all the usual things, ie. restart, reinstall, killed all running tasks.

    Thanks in advance

    Try the following:
    - Make sure that Outlook is not active.
    - Make sure that you can see hidden files and folders (this is a setting in the View tab of Tools | Options in Windows Explorer)
    - Select Start | Search... or Satrt | Find | Files and Folders (depending on your Windows version) to search for a file named OutCmd.dat. This is a file that contains some customizations to Outlook; sometimes it becomes corrupt.
    - Rename OutCmd.dat to OutCmd.old.
    - Start Outlook to test if the error has gone.

Does your organization use custom forms for e-mail? I wonder whether it's possible that the form contains script and has become corrupted in some manner?
