    Wireless and ADSL

I am completely new at this. I have found that I can boot up my computer with the wireless router and modem all hooked up with a cable, then disconnect the ethernet cable to my computer and the router and modem will continue to work wirelessly to my computer (through the PC card in my laptop obviouly).
Can I just start my router and modem without the computer attached at all, and they will provide wireless internet for me?
    Thanks

    It works for me.

The only time you should need a wired connection to the Wireless Access Point or the Modem/Router are when you are setting them up, or possibly when you are changing the configuration.
