    Nero Question

During my recent replacement of a defunct burner, I was rudely awakened to the fact that my copy of Nero 5.5.x was an OEM version that will no longer work with my replacement Sony burner. So, being a fan of the product, I downloaded, paid for and installed the latest version of the Nero suite. Their web site says you have to download THREE separate files, so I obeyed and did that. I now have Version 6.3.1.17 and have a question for Loungers. Back at the time that Version 6 was first released, there was <!post=this thread,281147>this thread<!/post> saying there was a significant bug in the product. Does anyone know of anything in the current iteration that needs to be looked out for?

    Re: Nero Question

There was a big problem with the first run of Nero Recode. It has since been repaired. The install package actually consists of 4 download files that should be unpacked and installed in sequence.

I, too, am currently using the most updated Nero program files without any problems. I must confess though, that I do not and have not used the Recode program. I just recall that it was quickly fixed with a patch or update...

I simply use Nero for burning audio and data files to CDRs. It does a whole lot more than I need it to.

    Re: Nero Question

Thanks for the posts so far folks. Tricky, I'm glad you posted too. Not only for the word on Recode, but for a nice clue. When I went poking around the Ahead web pages looking for upgrade info for someone with an OEM version, I came upon this page which only has THREE packages to download. When I saw your post this morning, I went back digging further and located the correct page with the FOUR packages to download. It turns out that the InCD package is missing from the page I found yesterday. I cross-checked the version numbers of the other three packages and they are what I downloaded. Well, I grabbed the InCD package too, even though the software I did install seems to be running OK without it.

    Re: Nero Question

I ever install is packages 1 and 3.
Packages 2 and 4 are not needed by all.

Actually, I use the Ahead software on my secondary OS.
I switched to Roxio's EMC 7 mainly because DirectCD so so much better than InCD.
