Cant Empty Clipboard (Excel XP SP2)

In Excel XP SP2, when attempting to copy and paste from one workbook to another, the message "Cannot Empty Clipboard" appears with an OK button. Also, copying and pasting in other applications doesn't work once they receive this message. It's not workbook specific. Although restarting the PC will clear the issue, this isn't very functional when it happens more then a few times a day. The only MS article that I found was related to the GetRight monitor and Excel 97. Any suggestions?
    Thanks and Smiles

According to this newsgroup post. Microsoft has an unpublicized hotfix for this problem; you would have to call them directly and explain why you need it in order to get it.

Another newsgroup post has a tip that may help if you are using a terminal server.
