Dotted lines under text. (Word 2000)

A user created a document and used the Ctrl +Shift+Space to insert hard spaces between the Title, initials and name of a person so that it stays on the same line. (See 3.3 and onwards in the attached document.) When he continued typing, all the text appeared with dots underneath.
When you press the Show/Hide button, all the text with the dots underneath disappear.
What is the problem, and how can we fix it?

The dotted red underline indicates that this is "Hidden" text. You can clear this by selecting the text and clearing the checkbox from "Hidden" in the Format Font dialog box.

I suspect that your user may have accidentally typed Control-Shift-H which is another way to toggle the hidden text attribute.

Phew! Thanks Stuart - that is exactly what they had done!
    Cheers
