Letters truncating on Merge (2002 SP3)

I am doing a mail merge - it's a letter with a merged address and some basic if / thens in it. It's running off of an Access db. Every so often, someone runs this, and the letter truncates. Another person in the same building ran the letter, and it truncated at the same place for them. I can't replicate the error from my machine (in a different building). If I log on to the machine where the truncation occured, and run the letter, it doesn't truncate for me there and when the original user logs back in and runs the letter yet one more time, it does not truncate. The truncation is occurring in a text only portion of the letter and on every letter in the merge at the same place. I am baffled. Has anyone experienced anything like this? - Gail

Hi Gail:
Is this happening frequently or is this an isolated event? This is a guess, but it sounds like someone perhaps used a different version of the main document or somehow managed to mess up part of the IF/Then portion of your fields. If you then logged on correctly & they logged on correctly the next time, that might explain what happened.

Hi Phil - Thanks for your response - I'ts happened a couple of times in the past week. I'm shrugging my shoulders as well because the times it has happened so far, the document has truncated in different places. So far, I have only seen the results of the merge as evidence (they call me after its been done of course) so I think the next time it happens, I'll run over and take a look at the merge document before they close it. Maybe I can get some idea of what the heck is going on!
