    Merging Columns (excel 2000)

    I have a spreadsheet that I need to join two columns to one. I have been researching but can not find the info.
    Here is what I need... Columns M N
    100 131
    100 132
    100 133

    To look like this M
    100 131
    100 132
    100 133

    I also woud like to add in verbage between the numbers to say.. 100 Room 131
    100 Room 132 ect:

    Anyone please help. Also the columns are on the same sheet.

    Try this formula:

    =M1 & " room " & N1

    Let's say your data start in row 1. If column O is not empty, insert a new column there. In cell O1, enter this formula:

    <code>=M1&" Room "&N1</code>

    and fill down this formula as far as needed. You can hide column M and N now, of you like, and work with column O. Or if you would like the calculated values replace the original data, do it as follows:

    With the cells in column O still selected, select Edit | Copy, then Edit | Paste Special..., click on the Values option, then click OK. Then, delete (the cells in) columns M and N.
