    Missing Record (2000)

I've created a report which runs from a query and previously everything worked fine. The query asks for a part number and prints information for that part. The problem has arisen when we type a certain part in. It is the same part number as another part, but with an A at the end. There's no problem with the form, or the table, accepting the part, it's in the table. It's only when we try to run the report for that part that the problem occurs. The part isn't found. If we run the report for another part, it runs fine.

What happens if you open the query from the database window and type in the part number ending in "A"?

So the problem is not with the report, but with the query. Can you provide some information about the query and about the table it is based on?

There are 2 tables involved. One is imported from Excel, the other gets data from a user, using a form, with the imported table as a sub-form. They both have a common field which is the part No. The query is used to get information from both tables to create the report. up until now, it's worked fine.

Does the part number ending in "A" occur in both tables?

I don't think we're going to solve it this way. Could you post a stripped down copy of the database? See <post#=368161>post 368161</post#> for instructions. In this case, we'd only need to see the two tables and the query.

    Re: Missing Record (2000)

I can't really post the tables because of the company data in it, but I may have found the source of the problem. Not long ago, you helped me with a drop down list (see <post#=377687>post 377687</post#>), so there is actually 3 tables. If I delete that tabel, which only contains the one field for the drop down data, the part number appears.
