In the middle of a print job - it stopped. I ran all the troubleshooting tests in XP and nothing fit. Then I tried to print a test page and Lo! My HP printer software is nowhere to be found. The printer is still listed under Printers and Faxes but it is not listed under Crograms and it is not listed under Add/Remove software.
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any suggestions on what gives?

I reinstalled the drivers - and it works fine as a local printer but it looks as if the problem is located in my print server. So, half the problem is dianosed and solved.

Reinstalling everything seems to have done the trick.
