    How to Save Image as jpg? (a2k (9.0.6926) SP-3 Jet 4.0 SP-8)

    I have an access report that prints letters.

    I copy and pasted a logo from a customer provided word document into the access report letter and the logo prints on the letter OK.

    Now I want to move the logo outside the database.

    How do I save the logo as logo.jpg so I store the image outside the access db?

    Then setup an Image or Unbound Object Fram on the report and link the image to the report.

    Thanks, John

    1. If you still have the word document with the logo, skip steps 2 through 5 and continue with step 6..
    2. Open the report in design view.
    3. Select the logo and copy it to the clipboard.
    4. Create a new Word document.
    5. Paste the logo into the document.
    6. Save the document as an HTML file.
    7. Word will create a subfolder containing (among others) the logo as a graphics file, probably .png.
    8. If you wish, you can use any graphics program (Paint, MS Photo Editor, IrfanView, ...) to edit /convert the file.

    Hans

    Worked perfectly.

    Tried the same concept with a water mark from a word doc and the image comes out larger on access report than it is in the word doc.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, John

    Perhaps the image was reduced in size in the Word doc. You can change the size of a picture by dragging the handles at the corners and in the middle of the sides.

    In the original Word doc the watermark image is perfectly dimmed, when I save doc as html it created image001.jpg, I changed it to Logo.bmp

    I created a report and in the Page header section created a Unbound Object Fram control and linked my Logo.bmp image

    In the Detail section of report I have my text controls for my letter information

    I have the following code module:

    <pre>Private Sub PageHeaderSection_Format(Cancel As Integer, FormatCount As Integer)
    Me.MoveLayout = False
    End Sub
    </pre>

    Every thing seems to work OK when printing letter, the image is the correct size however the image is too dark and does not make a good dim watermark in the back ground of the letter.

    Is there something I can do in within Access to dim the contrast of the image so it is not so intrusive?

    Thanks, John

    Word has options to adjust the brightness and contrast of pictures, Access doesn't. You will have to edit the logo in a graphics application, such as Microsoft Photo Editor or IrfanView.

    By the way, why did you change the extension from .jpg to .bmp? Those extensions stand for different types of files.

    I actually saved the Logo as a bmp, I thought I read somewhere where preferred watermark should be bmp

    Thanks for your help
