    Crystal Reports (version9.0)

I don't know if anyone in the lounge can answer a Crystal Report question but I decided to give it a try...

I have a field named "LastName" that contains for some people commas and/or periods. What I like to do is create a formula in Crystal that will identify the lastnames which contain a period and/or a comma.

    Can anyone help?

Well, I suspect this thread is going to be moved as soon as a moderator has a moment to take a look (probably to 'Other Serious Stuff' somewhere, although like you I'm not sure which forum!), but in the meantime - yes, I know how to do this; do you know how to work with formula fields, or do you need help from scratch? If you know how to use them, the formula you want will be something along these lines:

if ("," in {LASTNAME} or "." in {LASTNAME}) then "True" else "False"

If you need help creating the formula field in the first place, let me know!
