    Hiding file structure (2002)

If someone browsing a site removes the filename from the URL, they can see all the files in the directory on a web site. Is there a way to prevent this file structure from displaying.

First, if there is a file in the folder with the "default" name (typically index.html or default.htm or some such), then that document will load rather than a folder display. Second, the "virtual directory" feature can be disabled on the server, at least in IIS.

Thanks for the suggestions. Putting a default file in the directory is a pretty obvious solution really. Thanks for the help.

These default files can be of the "Error type" stating one is not "Authorized" to view contents of folder.
