Removing The License? (SP1 or ?)

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to remove the license from XP (or any other version of Windows) with the intention of providing someone with a fully installed and patched (Windows Update) system that cannot run until a license is installed.

A harder question, assuming this is possible, might be is it ethical to give someone a system in that state?

I don't think you can remove a key from an existing system. But System builders such as Dell, HP, etc. do that all the time when assembling machines. They have the appropriate OEM license to build and distribute a system.
