Re-Install problem (Win XP)
I've just re-formatted and am re-installing eerything to clean up my C drive.
Somehow, I believe I have changed a setting somewhere. When I boot, all goes well until the XP splash screen disappears, amd I then have a wait of 57 seconds with a totally blank screen, before the "welcome" screen appears.
In use, it also appears that the PC has slowed down.
I suspected that the order in which the disks had been recognised had changed (I had removed my 2nd physical drive while re-building). I then checked by forcing a reboot & scan, and sure enought, when a scan is done, Windows scans disk D, then E, then F, before going to my 1st physical drive (and home for Windows) the C drive.
I've looked at the Computer Management settings, and they seem to be OK (see attached).
Any suggestions please.
