Links folder in Internet Favorites (Windows 2000 IE 6 SP-1)

    Hi,

This is not a problem, just an annoyance. I've set up my IE favorites the way I want them, and that doesn't included the "Links" folder that IE provides. I delete it, and then a short while later, Windows or IE "helpfully" restores it. I deleted the specific links within it since I don't need them, so all I'm getting restored is an empty folder that I do not want. Is there a simple way to make sure the Links folder remains permanently deleted?

    Thanks,

    John

You can make the Links folder hidden:
    Right-click the Links folder.
    Select Properties.
Tick the 'Hidden' check box in the General tab.
    Click OK.
    Start Internet Explorer.
Links should be gone, but if not, remove it from the Favorites menu. It should not return now.
