    Excel crashes (Excel 2000)

When one opens a workbook with links, one normally gets the "This workbook contains automatic links to ..." dialog box giving the option to update or not. My excel does not. It crashes, instead. I have been experiencing such problems for a while and have had the IT people reinstall the Oracle interface wizard that I suspected of being the problem. It wasn't. But I noticed today in using someone else's PC that that message was not appearing on mine at any time. Where or how can I figure out a solution? Thanks.

Perhaps Jan Karel Pieterse's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in XL,290455>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in XL<!/post> can shed light on the problem.
