    Changing Calendar Color

Does anyone know a way to change the calendar appointment display from white to yellow in Outlook 98? A new employee at my company says that at his last job the calendar was yellow (he did not make the change himself) and he would like it here. At this point I am assuming it is done in the registry or by an outside program. TIA for any help.

Are you sure this was not just another view?
You appear to be able to set the background colour (Tools|Options|Calendar Options) but this only seems to apply to 1-day and 5-day-week views - not the 7-day-week or month views.

tools > options > calendar changes it in the day view. you can pick from several colors in the dropdown. yellow looks the best and i thought it was the default.

Is that in a particular release of Outlook 98 because there is nothing for color on 8.8.8104.6. Can I get it as an patch at Microsoft? Thanks for the quick response and TIA again for any help.

i missed the version reference. he was using OL2000 at the old company.

Is your company using exchange server and if so, OL2000 (and OL2002) are available as a free upgrade for CALs.

I think the answer is that we are using Outlook 98 but are NOT using Exchange. Our network is Novell 3.12 and we do not yet have a groupware of any sort. Is there any way programmatically to change the color using VB or by adding an entry to the registry? Thanks again.

    Re: Changing Calendar Color

it's a feature of Ol98 and therefore it can't be changed using VBA. (i booted an old machine that has ol98 on it to check & white is the only choice)

if you used exchange you could upgrade him to a newer version at no additional cost and that the only way using exchange would be of any help to you.

    he's going to need to get used to white <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
