    Cross References (Word 2002)

    Quick question about cross references (I tried to search for the solution but couldn't find it! I hope it's not impossible).

    MacPac auto-numbered document with cross references. Want to say, "...as in Sections 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6..." where 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6 are auto-numbered as 'Section 1.#' in the document. I can't figure out how to get the 's' to show up and the other 'Section's to stay out for my cross reference.

    Any ideas?

    Hi ellobie,

    If you insert the cross-references in the normal manner, you could then wrap each one inside a formula field such that you end up with something like:
    {=10*MOD({REF _Ref78863145 r h },1)}
    where _Ref78863145 is the field Word creates for cross-referencing purposes. This will return a whole number equivalent to what was previously the decimal value for values up to 9 - change the 10 to 100 for values from 10 to 99. It doesn't work with numbers like 1.1.1 either.

    Cheers
