    Corrupt Tables (XP)

Since I switched from Word 97 to Word XP, I am getting a lot of corrupt tables error messages. I create fairly simple tables, usually two columns and multiple rows. Nothing complicated and never tables-within-tables. In spite of this, I lose about one table a week and usually a significant amount of work. Word

If these tables were created in an earlier version of Word, the problem may be corrected by applying Office XP Service Pack 3. See <!mskb=328232>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 328232<!/mskb>.

Originally, some of them were from Word 97 but I've since had to recreate all them in Word XP. The document I have the most trouble with was, in fact, created in XP.

I suggest running "Detect and Repair" to make sure there is not a fault in the Office installation.

Have you in fact updated to the latest Service Pack (3)?

I have no idea. How would I check? I look in the help menu but could not find anything that told me what version I had beyond 10.0 or how to find out.

When you do a "Help>About", the first line will give you the version number AND SP1, SP2 or SP3. If you can't see any of the SP's indicated, then head over to the Office Downloads Page and Check for Updates.

To add to my last post - I see you are using a Mozilla browser. You will have to use IE in order for Office Update (or Windows Update) to work .
